MANISTIQUE, MI — The 2025 Folk Fest, organized by Schoolcraft Tourism & Commerce and the Folk Fest Committee, is set to bring the heart of Manistique to life on Friday, July 11 and Saturday, July 12 with an expanded lineup of vendors, live entertainment, and a renewed focus on public safety.

This year’s festival features 86 vendors, including 13 food vendors, offering plenty of family fun and good eating—perfect for what we hope will be a warm summer weekend! Vendors will line Cedar Street from the Post Office to State Savings Bank, covering both sides of the street. Booth setup will begin on Friday afternoon, with the festival running through Saturday evening.

To enhance public safety and ensure a smooth flow of both pedestrian and vendor traffic, concrete crowd safety barriers will be placed at key downtown access points beginning early Friday morning and remain in place until Sunday morning. These large barriers, provided by Zellars and installed by City of Manistique and Zellars, are part of a new safety plan developed by Manistique Public Safety Director Tim Russell, the City Council, STC, and Schoolcraft County Commissioners.

“We know the closure of Cedar Street can be inconvenient for some,” said Victoria George, Executive Director of Schoolcraft Tourism & Commerce. “But our priority is the safety of our community, our vendors, and our visitors. We’re grateful to local businesses and the City for supporting this improved safety plan.”
