The Manistique Area School district encompasses most of Schoolcraft County including the City of Manistique and the following townships: Doyle, Germfask, Hiawatha, Manistique, Mueller and Thompson. The total area of the district is 880 square miles with a population of approximately 8,000. The district operates an elementary school, a middle-high school and a 9-12 alternative school.
