Fausett Family Funeral Homes Receives First Dollar

Cindy King and Kathy Jerde recently presented Ryan and Lindsay Fausett with their “first dollar” from Schoolcraft Tourism and Commerce. The Fausetts are the new owners of the former Messier-Broullire Funeral Homes – now known as Fausett Family Funeral Homes.

Originally from Shepherd, Mich., Fausett received his mortuary science degree from Wayne State University and has worked for several funeral homes in southern Michigan.

Comfortable with the thought of raising his family and being a part of a smaller community, he said he felt the timing was right to make the move to achieve his ultimate goal – owning his own funeral home.

“I was looking for a small-town funeral home where I could be a part of the community and raise my girls,” said Fausett. “I grew up in a small village. That old saying it takes a village to raise a family is true. Everyone knew who I was, everybody knew my family. My great-grandmother and greatgrandparents went to school there. That’s where my family was from, and I want this for my kids here, too.”

Both Ryan and Lindsay, along with their two daughters, Olivia and Claire, look forward to being a part of and giving back to the community. Ryan has joined the Rotary Club and they are members of St. Francis de Sales Church.

The Fausetts welcome the community to stop and meet them or schedule an appointment by calling 341-2442.
